Let us say ‘sorry!’
We often heart
others by words and actions in our day to day dealings. This complicates our
relationship and makes life more difficult. We can easily solve many problems by
accepting our mistakes and saying, Sorry! Problem arises when we fail to have a
balanced view towards happenings in life arising mainly due to our inability to
listen the views of others. Everybody is just trying to express his sense of
belongingness to this universe. If we accept that and develop a sense of togetherness,
this world can certainly be a far better place to live in.
Whether we are
in the office or on road, the situation often takes ugly turn mainly due to
lack of tolerance and the other side reacts violently which was never expected.
For example, if a person parks his vehicle wrongly near his flat, his neighbour
indulges in fierce fighting which may sometimes end in killing of one of the
two persons fighting. We can avoid confrontation in most of such cases just by
listening peacefully to the grievances of the other side and by keeping self-control.
If we have tolerance and keep cool and try to listen the views of the other side,
many untoward incidents can be avoided. We may live happily by developing
understanding with our neighbours. Confrontation does not lead anywhere. We
must learn the art of saying sorry, if we really want to win others.
There are
situations when both sides seem to be taking correct positions. In fact, both
of them may be right and still their views may be diametrically opposite to
each other and entirely conflicting. It is absolutely essential that a middle
path is found out in such situations. The question is how to adjust with the
situation so that they could live together in harmony without causing any
disturbance to others. It is always wise to develop feeling of oneness which
can be better expressed by acceptance of mistakes on our part which might have been
committed willingly or unwillingly. If that resolves the situation and helps in
restoration of peace, one should not hesitate in doing so.
God gave us
ability to speak so that we can make others understand our feelings. He also
gave us capacity to hear so that we can listen to the views of others. Then he
also gave us eyes to be able to see the vast universe in which we are living.
This world can certainly be a better place to live in if we make a proper use
of these three abilities given to us by God.
We often apply
our minds while confronting day to day problems. That is required also. But
there are situations when we need to apply our heart more than the mind and
that alone can help sort out differences with others. Many times, we see people
fighting for small issues. This happens because their ego gets involved. No one
wants to backtrack from his stated position. The result is that even a small
issue gets complicated. It is why we often involve third person who may see
things independently and try to resolve it by following the middle path. It is
quite possible that both the sides could be right in their view but they are
unable to find a mutually acceptable solution. That can happen only if we
accept others view and try to find out middle path and adjust with the
situation.
Happiness in
life cannot be achieved only through bookish knowledge. It needs a practical
approach to things. We do not lose much rather gain much more if we consider
the problems of others with human angle and keep our individual ego aside while
doing so. This makes a lot of difference and can bring out unexpected results.
We should consider problems of life from others viewpoint. Management of
conflict by adopting a reasonable and mutually acceptable solution is key to
peaceful living. It is quite possible that we may be looser for the time being
but nothing is costly if that gives us peace in life. We cannot enjoy unless we
live in peace and harmony with the nears and dears. Can we imagine a situation
where we shall be dancing alone? It cannot bring real happiness at all. We
always desire to share our moments of joys with others. We can do this only if
we maintain cordial relation with them.
